Winter in Cali

Really can it get any colder!  This year we have had some weird weather I can say though winter in Cali usually isn't ever this cold!  I hate it being so chilly in the morning it's fine but all day come on now I want the Sun to warm me up!  Even my pups hate it so cold!  I guess I can't complain to much I am pretty spoiled to lived on the Central Coast pretty much only 15 minutes from the beach never really too hot or too cold usually.....LOL and I can pretty much go walking to some pretty neat places such as Nojai Falls, La Purisma Mission really I am Lucky I live where it is so Beautiful!

Let's EAT!

I am going to make a new listing for a foods section I LOVE to bake new things and make new deserts I Love Cupcakes those seem to be a favorite of mine right now and coming up with new designs!

 I also have been making more bread.  I have always loved to make home made bread ever seeing that is one of the first things I learned to make years ago when Haylie was just a baby from her Great Grandmother that we lived with in Utah.  She was such a blessing and ever so sweet she showed me alot seeing when Haylie was born I had just turned 20 and I am a only child I never really had the chance to perfect my "homemaking" skills since mom did it all and she was the BEST HOMEMAKER I know!  Anyhoo I was only 19 when I married for the first time and had no idea how to cook except recipes my mom showed me which were either mexican food of course or organic foods seeing I was allergic to lots of different things.  So my cooking skills were limited but sweet grammy showed me the basics and I was off and running.  I always like to use fresh I try hard not to use can as much as possible.  My kids are great they only love fresh veggies and fruits hate them cooked and really I never really like that takes out the VITAMINS!  So I have tried some new version's of my bread and changed things a little her and there and it has been fun and nothing beats fresh Bread!

THANKFUL

I just had a quick not to write it's been on my mind this past Thanksgiving I have alot to be thankful and could write a whole list but I heard it very plain and simple this past week from my Pastor.  He said we should all be thankful we can be "thankful"!  Which is true and with out the Lord in our lives we wouldn't be able to that what a Awesome Blessing that is what a glorious Lord we have who loves us this much and gives us the privilege to be THANKFUL!

How Could I Forgot!

Omg! Really,Seriously....(our fav line in house!) Sometimes annoying...sometimes funny right now funny!  I can't believe I forgot our newest edition to the Family and this was in June!  Back slide a little here June we got a new PUPPY a new baby girl....Shyloe Cadillac Sheffield

She was so tiny when we brought her home unlike Sluggo our oldest Bulldog who was a moose at this age and we brought him home when he was about this old too, she was about 8 weeks when we picked her up and brought her home and she has been spoiled ever since!  She has completely won Daddy over and he tells her every day she is his baby girl!  She is a Brat and we love her! Now we have 3 girls and a Boy and Sluggo he is still the Prince!

July

On to July no eventful really we did have have a Birthday! Kyleigh Ryan turned 10 years old

We had a blast had a small family and friends party a Hawaiian themed party and her BFF Destiny was there they are literally attached at the hip!  We also went to The Ravine as a family had a blast!

We had so much fun!  For the 4th we just hung out with friends and family and I did some dabbling in making some tutu's which know I love making I just have to start posting more pics!  I had the cutest model my friend June's baby who is just as cute as a button and she is so tiny I always call her button!

Where I left off.....

    Why hello everyone it has been well several months just living life and been busy at that!  Well I assume I should highlight everyone on where I left off and that would be "The Dress" and that would be when Haylie graduated Lakeveiw so I have alot of blogging to do because we are now in the middle of High School and there is a new Dress!  So I may as well get busy!  Until I catch up to this month going to give the short and sweet version but of course can't forget some cute pics!

    We did find the perfect dress after several trips in and out of town for her Grad dress it was so cute this was the one and Haylie looked so beautiful we couldn't of been more proud of her! 

Here are some highlights from our day and for all of our Family and Friends who made Haylie and our day extra special we love you we know how much it meant to her for her to have you all there whether she said it or not it made her feel very special and very honored!

  I know Haylie will miss Lakeveiw she made great friends and great memories and she will always be a Trojan at heart!

Where to Begin?

   

 So the last time I was here was in May OMG we are now in July!  Ok only because my computer would not download a single picture so now problem fixed and I am back in bloggy business!  Like I said where to begin or better where not to begin!  May....the month of Mother's Day(really kids day! haha!) we had a wonderful day of Shopping at the Oakes Mall in Thousand Oaks and I did get spoiled with another one of my favorite things....a pretty Red(Johnny keeps thinking it's orange!) COACH bag my kids say after 6 is way more than enough and if I get to have sooo many when and where are theirs! HAHAHA! I told them they are special occasion bags...My oldest said "Well last time it was you were just in the "Mood" bag and the little one said YEAH and you said too before that it's the last one like this in the store kinda bag.....UGGGHH! I need some more excuses!  We also had fun and made Jam as our Mother's Day Gifts first time we all made Jam and we had fun we called it our "Jam Session" strawberry jam that is! 

   

   

   

   

    Next we celebrated Sluggo's First Birthday! We have a tradition in our family which our Aunt Alice started when the Kids were very little, it started with Haylie I think she had just turned 3 and Aunt Alice brought this plate to us and said this is the Birthday Plate and is only to be used on each one of our birthdays... that day a special plate for a special day! So we have done that ever since and our Sluggo is part of the family so he got to use the special plate on his special day! His Birthday is May 8, 2009 and we are so blessed to have this little pup(haha) Now I laugh because if you have seen Sluggo up close and personal he is well our little BEAST!!! The girls had recently seen Alice in Wonderland and they refer to their "little brother" as the bandasnach(I am only guessing on spelling!) Yes, the Beast in the movie he is about 80 pounds of love he thinks he is a kid LITERALLY! He loves car rides hates when I put him out side LOVES his GIRLS he is so good with them and always wants the girls to give him love! Haylie is more of the boss with Sluggo we learned this pass year really he listens to her better than me! As with them, I give in Haylie stands her ground and if he has been naughty... outside he goes so with her he doesn't mess around! Awwww but if she has been gone overnight at a friends or a trip to her dad's for a long while it's like he fell in love all over again he doesn't just wag his tail his whole body shakes! Kyleigh and Sluggo I can always count and those 2 little ones getting into some kind trouble! They have a game they made up called the Leaf Game.....it was fall and the leaves fell off the trees and Kyleigh and Sluggo were checking them out well they found it to be alot of fun if she hung upside down from the tree holding a leaf and he would "Snatch" it from her! They did this for months no telling how many leaves Sluggo has swallowed because of this! All in all he is the best pup we could of ever asked for he is so loving and sweet and I fear if he ever got lost God forbid we would never see him again because he just loves EVERYONE! He even has Johnny's heart! Happy Birthday Son!

Our next big adventures begin in June and that is Haylie's Graduation but this needs a new page all it's own so stay tuned!

STRAWBERRIES!

OK, so it has been awhile and I have neglected my blog.....well  here it is and I am back Strawberries is the season remember I said we were going to practice healthy eating habits, well we have been except we made the most delicious cake with our Strawberries, now that I live in Orcutt instead of Flowers it's Berries! We made a Strawberry layered cake with chocolate topped frosting and sssshhhh it's a secret our Mother's Day present's are Strawberry Jam!!! The girl's are very excited to learn how to make jam so till then........Strawberry Cake!

Fruits and Veggies

Hence, SUMMER is on the way!  Therefore time to buckle down and back to fruits and veggies.  The girls and I love them it is harder to get dad to eat them!  We always have fun creating new ways to make eating them fun and even better than they are!  Heaven's candy is what we call it best natural candy around!  We want to try making our own Strawberry Jelly or Jam this year since we are always surrounded by STRAWBERRIES!  Eating healthier should not only be when summer comes but all the time we shop Organic as much as I can and I think I am going to be stricter on myself just because I feel 100% better when I am!  Remeber exercise everyday even if it is just a walk around the block!  Remember EAT YOUR FRUITS AND VEGGIES MOMMA SAID!!!!

High School

AWWWW, the time is come! Haylie is going to Righetti High School next year!  Last night March 11,2010 we signed her up for school.  I can't tell you how proud Johnny and I are!  It seems like yesterday we were walking her to her first day of Kindergarten!  We chose the College Track so are plan...well her plan is to go to college a 4 year right out of school!  So this means alot of hard work, but she can do it!  Schools we are looking at are USC,UCLA,UCSB and Cal Poly(John's chose,this way he can keep a close eye on his little girl!)!  We can't wait to see all of her new accomplishments she makes as a High School student!  These are the moments I would never want to miss!

*~Glitter Toes~*

Glitter Toes I have seen this alot around lately on my friends blogs and facebook and it looks like so much fun!  So, I ordered all the stuff to do it!  My Bestie Jessica has a spray tanning business so my idea is to go along with her and do the whole "GLITTER TOES!" I think it would be fun so here's to practicing on the girly's which I know they will love and here is to some MORE glitter in our lives!  You can never have to much GLITTER!  What a fun way to start spring and summer.   *~SPARKLE~*~*SHINY~*~GLAMOROUS~*~GLITTER TOES~*!!!!!!!!!!!

Viola!  The other night Haylie and I decided we would give everyone a GREAT surprise for dessert the next evening so she helped me "whip" up a awesome chocolate very simple and easy to make Chocolate Mousse!  I always have fun cooking with the girls, but this was extra special.  We had great girl talk and she is alot more interested in cooking now that she is in Cooking this semster.  It was so fun and just so YUMMY!

The Month Of Love

Today is the begining of March missed the month of love by 1 day.......not really just have had a busy month last month!  So, today is a new month and I am ready for it!  I will give a recap on my thoughts and our going ons of last month.......Well my thoughts for Febuary are always a fun and exciting month in our home the girls and even John gets into Valentines Day my personal  opinion is they like it so much because I bake alot then!  We do have our family tradtions daddy goes and gets all his "girls" a gift and we get daddy a gift and he gets lots of love that day! 

    This year however I used this month at the begining instead of on the start of Valentines Day to remind the girls that soon the season of Lent was soon approaching and use this as a good learning tool on our Lord's ever lasting love for us as his "children".  John 3:16 "For God so loved the world he gave his one and only son,that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life."   I ask girl's what this verse meant for them and how can they show the Lord their love for him and all he has given us?  Haylie response was stated as; "Our Lord and Saviour loved us so much that he not only died for me and but for everyone and whoevers believes in our Lord will be greatly blessed."  Kyleigh response; "Jesus loves me so much he wanted us to be saved!"  I can't tell you how proud of these little girls I am and for their True enduring word for our Lord!

 So, in between all of our baking and getting cards ready for our friends this is what the girls and I talked about it was just AWESOME!  We also decided instead of giving up something for Lent we would give of ourselves and be a Christ like example to others.  I felt giving up candy or soda or such material item for 40 days would not mean as much because after that you just get it back I felt if the girls really wanted to know and feel the meaning of the Easter season which is approaching they could show their "LOVE"just as Christ showed his love for us when he gave the great sacrifice of his life to save our lives! This to us is how we used Febuary the month of love to feel the real love of Christ and show this to our Friends and Family!  Now go eat a COOKIE! 

Just another Sunny Day in Cali!

So, today is a beautiful day here in Cali!  I can't tell you how much I love our weather here on Central Coast!  I am very spoiled to be in so much sunshine with the beach 15 minutes away and the Lake 1 hour from us! On days like this I can't wait for SUMMER! Neither can my girls and especially Johnny!  It really is sad though that today I have to work and just look from the back of my Pharmacy out the front windows at th sunshine.....I am hoping when I get home I can start the BBQ(which normally Johnny would do)since Johnny is driving tonight I am going to try and use my "Girl Scout" skills!  I hope everyone is having a funshine.....SunShiny day too!

Butterflies and the Beach

I can't speak enough or put into words whats great blessing it has been to have my Brownie Troop this year!  I know it is a Great responsibility for anyone, it is even tougher when you do not have a co~leader but some how I have been able to pull it off and when I think I am far to over whelmed and I think I can't do it those little ladies remind me why I became a troop leader! 

    It was a couple weeks back and this was really one of many, of our first big ventures out of the Orcutt area, yes we have had a Christmas party and been in the parade also we had gone to Whipper Snippers and were taught alot about just "being a girl".  This day and this adventure was extra special to me.  We went to visit The Monach Butterfly Grove located in Pismo Beach.  All I can say is the Lord has given us so many wonders to be grateful and remember all the creatures he has created for us.  I can only tell you my girls were amazed and could of stayed there all day and night! 

    Not only did they see they wonderful,amazing,beautiful butterflies, but we also took a trail from the grove right to the Beach and the wonder in their eyes and just the pure joy of being together filled all of our hearts with joy that day!  As young ladies I hope that all our time together they will take these special times and hold them close to their hearts as I do!  I know when I was in Girls Scouts I have so many memories that still bring a smile to me and a joyful feeling in my heart TODAY!
